Best Championship-Winning Upset

LOVB Austin

Despite a talented roster primarily composed of UT Volleyball alumni and international veterans, LOVB Austin surprisingly finished the inaugural LOVB Pro regular season with a 5-11 record. Seeded fifth for the league’s six-team postseason, LOVB Austin showcased resilience to capture the first-ever League One Volleyball Championship. LOVB Austin overcame 2-set deficits in each of their first two playoff matches – which included an upset of top-seeded LOVB Atlanta in the semifinals – before sweeping fellow underdogs LOVB Omaha in the championship game. Former Longhorn standout Madisen Skinner earned LOVB Finals MVP after notching 73 points during the team’s blistering, title-winning run.
