“The double” is a term used in association football (soccer) when a club wins its country’s top-tier division and primary domestic cup competition in the same season. Leander ISD’s Vandegrift High School accomplished a different type of football double during the 2024-25 academic year as its football and boys' soccer team each won the UIL 6A Division II state championship for the first time in school history. Quarterback Miles Teodecki threw two touchdowns in Vandegrift’s 24-17 championship game victory over Southlake Carroll. Meanwhile, the boys' soccer team defeated Mesquite High School 3-1 in the 6A Division II state finals. All in all, a great year for the Vandegrift Vipers.
