Austin is rife with theatre companies, but Molly Fonseca and Anikka Lekven’s nonprofit is of a rare breed founded specifically to tell stories for and by people with marginalized genders. Starting with Fonseca’s 2019 one-woman show MS, about an aspiring actor’s diagnosis with the autoimmune condition, and through recent highlights Hungry Teenage Track Stars and Unbury Your Gays, Broad productions are always bold, brave, and tender, depicting experiences that so many of us relate to, but don’t often see take center stage.
