Austin offers no shortage of places to settle in, grab a drink, and watch the game. Bars, breweries, and pubs all like to market themselves as prime sports hangouts, and while a big screen and a good selection of cold beverages do most of the work, a really memorable destination requires quality snacks. It’s hard to think of better game-day bites than those offered at Chalmers, the huge indoor-outdoor sports bar on East Cesar Chavez. Chalmers counts both Rollin Smoke – a highly acclaimed barbecue spot beloved for its pork belly burnt ends – and Discada – a taco purveyor focusing on “cowboy wok” cooking that results in their famous beef, pork, and pepper taquitos – as their on-site food vendors. It’s a real win.
