Originally slated for March, the band’s Mohawk date was rescheduled after Philadelphia-based emo outfit Sweet Pill canceled more than half of their spring tour for personal reasons. The fourpiece’s hiatus followed the release of their sophomore studio album, Still There’s a Glow, where sharper production gives shape to the group’s jagged, metallic currents. Across the record, Sweet Pill stretch their post-hardcore roots beyond their traditional confines, pulling in textured shoegaze and pop-punk melodies to balance their heavier trills. Without fail, lead vocalist Zayna Youssef finds the fault lines between the band’s restless math rock shreds and abrasive hooks, her delivery capable of sounding as sweet as it is unruly. – Miranda Garza
