She’s not gonna take it anymore! First staged in 2019 and toured throughout the country since, this puppet production by the Austin-born, Boston-based Sarah Nolen pops up at the Vortex. Nolen revisits the classic character as a feminist figure, allowing Judy of Punch and Judy to have her own story complete with “respect, justice, and a well-deserved nap.” But just because the show’s woke doesn’t mean it’s broke, as there’ll be plenty of goofy slapstick comedy to keep you, your kids, and even the alligator giggling. – James Scott
