The Invincible Czars continue their tradition of adding a live score spanning classic, bossa nova, and heavy metal genres to silent films, this time to a film from Germany 100 years ago. Directed by F.W. Murnau, Faust tells the origin story of the Faustian bargain, as an elderly alchemist makes a deal with the devil for power, glory, and earthly delights. We can all guess how that turns out. The sex, death, and drama this deal entails are perfect fodder for a dramatic Czar interpretation. – Lina Fisher
