Dynamic saxophonist David Murray is known for his free jazz attack, though there’s so much more to what he does. Iconoclastic percussionist/vocalist Kahil El’Zabar lives in his own sound world, one in which jazz, blues, and global percussion traditions meld. Together they make a new kind of vibe – freely improvised, forward-thinking, and impossibly soulful. The duo’s 2023 Austin show conjured some heavenly magic for those lucky enough to attend, and this show will be no different.
