Austin's only Brazilian choro band, Caros Amigos ("Dear Friends"), formed in 2021 and specializes in the lively, toe-tapping traditional music of Brazil. A “cousin” of samba, choro is mainly an instrumental music featuring upbeat rhythms, lilting melodies, and virtuosic musicianship.
Following Caros Amigos' set, will be a unique community-participation musical experience (Austin Choro Club) following the traditions of it's native Brazil - a "roda de choro" ("choro circle") - a "choro jam session." All are welcome to participate.
