Most kids can't keep their hands to themselves, and at the Discovery Center, they don't have to. This ground-floor exhibit offers kids and families a unique chance for hands-on dinosaur exploration, bones and all. New this May, the center introduces young learners to the science of paleontology using interactive stations and engaging exhibits. The center comes after a major revamp in 2022 when extensive renovations and a name change refreshed the formerly Texas Memorial Museum. As this new addition puts a spotlight back on Austin’s only natural science and history museum, it's the perfect excuse to take the family, let the kids pick up a femur or two, and feel for yourselves why we chose the Discovery Center as our pick for the best new dino dig in town.
