The highlight of this Balcones Canyonland Perserve is her signature 50-foot waterfall flowing from Hamilton Creek. The falls drop into the pool itself, which is nestled in a sheer, grottolike canyon. Apparently our readers love to rough it, as the preserve's first focus is on nature, not cushy amenities. Bring sturdy hiking boots and plenty of drinking water if you plan to stay for a while.
