Consider this a call to both adults and teens to come use their hands, craft-style. Austin Public Library hosts two zine-centric events on the same night at the same Downtown venue. Those out of their teenhood can join up with fellow mature makers in creating pieces that fit this month’s Poetry theme. Either fill your creation with your own poetry, or take inspiration from a favorite stanza or two. Teens ages 13 to 18 can join up with library volunteer Barbara to learn about zine basics as well as DIY self-published books. There’ll be snacks and projects on offer, so no making art while hangry. At the end of the night, everyone’s invited to contribute their work to APL’s zine collections. – James Scott
