Is Austin’s first-ever Poet Laureate Zell Miller III also the busiest? Because after just putting on And She Was Loved, the debut show of his new company Black Rose Theater ATX, Miller’s leading a three-workshop writing series with APL. With no previous experience required, attendees are invited to dig into different writing topics throughout autumn starting with the “I Am” poem. Through this exercise, writers will create a work that explores the personal through I statements. Next on the calendar is Oct. 19’s Writing From the Child Inside workshop; the series ends with Making Words Dance With Music on Nov. 16. – James Scott
