Welcome to the Junkyard 2 benefiting Junkyard ATX w/ David Ramirez, the Point., Garrett T. Capps

The legacy of Austin songwriters is as wide as it is deep: difficult to contain in one genre or through line. The trifecta taking the stage at Antone’s in support of Junkyard ATX captures the Live Music Capital’s penchant for whimsy, genre-discarding attitude, and appreciation of sincere storytelling in three parts. Garrett T. Capps’ chooglin’ madcap psychedelic country opens the night, followed by the Point’s groovy blend of experimental instrumentation. David Ramirez’s earnest, heartstring-tugging baritone ends the fundraiser concert on a folkier note. It’s this outside-of-the-box artistry that nonprofit Junkyard hopes to help preserve, turning unused buses into musical hot spots. – Caroline Drew
