Brooklyn duo Water From Your Eyes’ Rachel Brown (thanks for coming) and Nate Amos (This Is Lorelei) share a penchant for long music project names and unwieldy compositions. August’s LP It’s a Beautiful Place is a psychedelic action thriller, each song melding from intergalactic car chase to Western shootout to sludgy medieval death march like a thoughtfully rendered anamorphic video edit. Sets by Brazilian-born, L.A.-based beat-driven shoegazer Winter and their electronic collaborator Hooky establish the subgenre scene for this atmospheric show, with an introduction by local punk-benders Wet Dip. – Caroline Drew
