Last week, during one of their Parker Jazz Club sellouts of the past 4.5 years, three-quarters of Monte Warden’s Wagoneers previewed their first new material since the late 20th century. A full crowd heard the B-side of actual physical single “Doghouse Flowers” b/w “Yesterday Stopped By,” the former ripping like Memphis’ Sun Studios and the latter shuffling a real clutcher made for an honest-to-God dance hall. Blessedly, Austin’s still got one of those, so to all y’all Parker enthusiasts of the singer’s Fifties guise in the Dangerous Few, witness the man in his native honky-tonk mode at the George Strait-approved Broken Spoke. – Raoul Hernandez
