Out in Austin-area neighbor Round Rock, visual art history and stagecraft bring back to life both Vincent van Gogh and his beloved brother Theo. In this Leonard Nimoy adaptation of Phillip Stevens’ play, real letters exchanged by the brothers read aloud show the depths of the artist, his work, and his life from the perspective of the man who loved him most. Beth Burns directs, and Penfold co-founders Ryan Crowder and Nathan Jerkins alternate the role of Theo in a performance that previously got them a Best of Austin award: Best Two Men in a One-Man Show. – James Scott
