The answer? What is Uptown Girls, one of those sleepover classics panned by critics and adored by me at about 10 when I grabbed it off a Blockbuster shelf. The late, great Murphy plays a New York party girl fallen on hard times after her trust fund gets embezzled by her deceased rock-star father’s accountant.
