When I put Train Dreams on my year-end top 10 films list, I lamented that most viewers would only see this lushly filmed, deeply felt drama at home on Netflix, whereas, lucky me, “I will forever treasure seeing it on the big screen at AFS, with a rapt audience: a sacred space.” Now lucky you: AFS Cinema is hosting another 35mm screening of the Oscar-nominated film, an adaptation of a Denis Johnson novella about the life of a railroad worker unspooling across a rapidly changing American landscape. Better yet: Filmmaking partners Clint Bentley and Greg Kwedar (Sing Sing) will be in attendance. – Kimberley Jones
