Jenni Rose has led DFW-launched rockers the Vandoliers through a decade of barn-burning performances and five distinctively Texan, cowpunk albums. Now, she’s turning her attention to a new project. A pop-punk explosion of onstage catharsis and celebratory defiance, Tomgirls’ formation was propelled by Rose’s coming out as a trans woman in 2025. Since then, the songwriter has explored dysphoria and her growing confidence in her music with the Vandoliers, as she told the Chronicle in 2025, and in this new triumphant, boisterous trio. At their first-ever headlining show on Saturday, Tomgirls introduces Austin to their joyful, rambunctious sound. – Caroline Drew
