Austin Iranian Professionals Association offers a special celebration in honor of the Persian festival of Tirgan. The Iranian summer tradition is dedicated to Tishtrya, a divine being who appears in the sky to create thunder and lightning for rain. While this fest centers on rain, water, and renewal, hopefully the weather’s nice and bright for all the activities, including a cultural bazaar, Iranian music and dance, and Persian cuisine like sholeh zard (saffron rice pudding).
