Join father and daughter co-authors Aqueel "Al" Athar and Tanya Athar-Jogee for a special talk on their debut novel, Tiny Glimmers of Light, which features themes of misogyny, terrorism, patriarchal systems, religious extremism and social hierarchies. Set in Pakistan, 2014, the book follows 19-year-old Goha Hadi, who is lured by a tantalizing opportunity to work for a secret organization that will release his family from poverty. Hundreds of Urdu words in the novel bring the sights, sounds, and scents of a tumultuous Pakistan alive on the pages.
