Trees have rings. History has layers. Artist and filmmaker Tiffany Shlain brings the two together in Dendrofemonology: A Feminist History Tree Ring, a traveling sculpture that traces thousands of years of women's history through the rings of a tree. Previously displayed on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., the artwork now comes to Austin Central Library for an evening exploring feminism, art, and equality. Visitors can also hear from Shlain and catch the world premiere of her short film “We Are Here.” Turns out, trees have plenty of stories to tell. – Erika Gonzalez
