One of the rare Sixties LSD-centered movies whose principal aim wasn’t to scare people away from the drug, The Trip follows a tripper (Peter Fonda) as a tripsetter (Bruce Dern) guides him through a mind-bending psychedelic experience. For the soundtrack, director Roger Corman (who got the idea for The Trip from his own LSD thrillride) enlisted the Electric Flag, a Chicago based blues/psych project whose members had connections to everything from Highway 61 to Haight-Ashbury to Hendrix.
