A sense of urgency drove the filming of 2019 documentary The River and the Wall. Following the first Trump presidency in 2016, amid the fervor for the construction of an enormous border wall between the U.S. and Mexico, five friends traversed the 1,200-mile border on horses, bikes, and canoes to capture the natural environment before it was irreparably changed.
