Come one, come all, to the ghoulish glory of The Poison Circus. This is more than your run-of-the-mill creepy clown experience. In Bottle Alley’s production, members of a struggling circus pattern themselves after Major Arcana tarot cards, lending an air of eternal mysticism to the proceedings. The “poison” part comes in when the characters fuel themselves with scorpion venom. Nothing like a little external help to take a show from “oh cool” to “WHAT IS HAPPENING.” Presented in an outdoor clearing, seeing Poison Circus in the dark and surrounded by nature is an even more perfect way to feel a bit on the edge of reality. – Cat McCarrey
