Keeping Texas Performing Arts’ Broadway in Austin series golden, The Outsiders is coming to the UT campus for an eight-show run. The Tony Award-winning musical is inspired by the also highly acclaimed S.E. Hinton novel and Eighties-dreamboat-filled movie, which all follow Oklahoma teenager Ponyboy. He, along with other members of the working-class Greasers, violently face off with the town’s snobbier “Soc” class. The adaptation revives the classic novel with Americana rock harmonies and reminds everyone that things are still “rough all over.” – Flora Belle Farr
