As I write this blurb, the bouncy beat of Dracula 2000 star Vitamin C’s “Master of Disguise” echoes through my cranium. I wore out my family’s VHS copy of this movie, repeating over and over the catchphrases with my equally Disguisey-pilled cousin. “Am I not turtley enough for the turtle club?” “Become another person.” “This is what you’re doing – and this is what I want you to do.” All these quotes mean nothing without the visual of SNL’s Dana Carvey gooped up in ugly – and often incredibly offensive – makeup effects. With time, I’ve come to understand how awful the movie truly is. Yet a part of me can’t outrun him, which is why I recommend you go see my friend Pistachio at this month’s free Odd World screening. Maybe the additionally free beer from sponsor Lazarus Brewing will help the dogspit impressions go down easier. – James Scott
