Ballet Austin invites audiences of all ages into an enchanting storybook world of adventure, imagination and heart with Stephen Mills’ The Magic Flute, a full-length ballet inspired by Mozart’s beloved opera. The production runs May 8–10 at The Long Center, offering a perfect Mother’s Day weekend experience. This fantastical journey follows Prince Tamino and Papageno as they set out to rescue Princess Pamina, guided by a magic flute and enchanted bells. Blending Mills’ signature storytelling with imaginative design, the production features vibrant choreography, theatrical humor and Cambodian shadow puppetry.
