Last year, the Irons frontman Hayden Havard flew to Uruguay to link up with indie blue-blood Juan Wauters (see Mac Demarco collab), where they put together a concept album following the pilot episode of an imaginary children’s show where the host uses music – and magic – to return to childhood. Think Harry Nilsson’s The Point! meets Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. After flying under the radar since its April release, Havard and the Irons are bringing a live, Wauters-less version of The Blue Bongo Bobby Show to the 29th Street Ballroom Tuesday, where they will be joined by local avant-jazz-funk trio Dodo. – Adam Elayan
