Hyperreal continues its tradition of offering underseen horrors for Halloween, this time with a local twist: Robert Rodriguez’s 1998 high school horror was shot in Austin, San Marcos, and Lockhart. Boasting a stacked cast of Nineties stalwarts like Clea DuVall, Josh Hartnett, Elijah Wood, Jordana Brewster, and for some reason Usher, it follows a group of teens trying to save themselves from the parasite-poisoned teachers at their high school. Silly practical effects and quippy dialogue make this feel like an extended Buffy season 1 episode, in the best way. – Lina Fisher
