The Black Crowes (aka Chris and Rich Robinson plus whomever) spent the 1990s re-mining the admixture of Stones, soul, and scarves that powered their first two albums into the stratosphere, and then spent the first few decades of the 21st century breaking up, making an album now and then (including several live records), playing shows, and breaking up. Repositioning themselves as blues-rock lifers unconcerned with pop trends was the smartest thing they ever did (selling 30 million albums helps) and keeping their live chops up was the second smartest.
