The Applicators (performance & record signing)

Austin’s early ’00s queens of punk rouse themselves for a brief tour celebrating the long-awaited vinyl release of their second LP, 2006’s My Weapon. Remastered from the original tapes finally returned to the band, the limited edition of 500 neon metallic pink records are crammed with raw-yet-melodic buzzbombs like “Tragedy,” which fuse street-level garage raunch with Wire-like art-school hooks. The Applicators launch with two hometown gigs, including a Waterloo in-store and a proper Lost Well show doubling as Plasmatics tribute Tits Out singer Suzy Bravo’s 50th birthday party. It’ll be good to feel their scream-along thunder again. Promise? open. – Tim Stegall
