Now on view at the Lorenzo de Zavala State Archives and Library Building in Austin, Texas America250 highlights the outsized impact Texans have had on the nation. The exhibit showcases iconic moments and contributions—from cowboys to astronauts, and from Beaumont to Big Bend—that helped shape the United States. Visitors will explore artifacts from the State Archives’ collections, including early 20th-century spurs and cowbells, historic photographs, maps, music, and the State of Texas Medal of Valor presented to the Apollo 11 astronauts in 1971. The exhibit will be on view throughout 2026.
