In a town the 13th Floor Elevators once levitated from, and that the Black Angels now hover over, psychic Texan pioneer Josh T. Pearson makes for a quicksilver find. Lift to Experience, his Nineties Denton trio, cooked up a third-eye sonic event every bit as Lone Star sundering as the Butthole Surfers or Explosions in the Sky. Mostly out from the stage lights, Pearson alongside seasoned song-oriented stage vets Caroline Sears and Tate Mayeux surely tantalizes on paper, or ones-and-zeroes. To Gen X, discovering a Clinton-era listing of Roky Erickson at the Hole in the Wall would demand a night out for the books. Gen Y, step right up. – Raoul Hernandez
