What’s not to love about Cinderella? She’s fashionable, a friend to animals, and knows how to have a good time but get home at a reasonable hour. No wonder the prince couldn’t stop thinking about her. Summer Stock Austin presents a vibrant version of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s 1957 musical (the “Enchanted Edition”), closer in vibe to the televised reimagined retelling from 1997 starring Whitney Houston and Brandy. This time, Cinderella takes the driver’s seat to shape her destiny rather than simply waiting for her knight in shining armor. Could she be any more enchanting? – Kat McNevins
