If all the summerween celebrations haven’t totally drained your hunger for horror, consider this new killer event from Blood Over Texas. The same folks behind the yuletide frights at Horror for the Holidays turn up the heat with Eighties-inspired horror fun like the retro mall-themed vendor market, a mini horror car show, and screenings of classic slashers Chopping Mall and Friday the 13th Part III (in 3D, no less!). Everything culminates in a Slash Dance party, a blood-pumping affair with live music and DJs. Plus, all festivities barring the car show are indoors, so no need to fear a sunburn. – James Scott
