Strange Bird Palooza benefiting the National Immigrant Justice Center w/ Tearjerk, FLAGS, Guiding Light, Big Iron, Penner

No surprise that your favorite local rockers have day jobs, but it’s pretty fun that so many of them work at the same place. Continuing the tradition of mixing musical and physical expression, the stylists at popular haircut-only, no-chemical hair salon Strange Bird present Strange Bird Palooza, a showcase of resident scissor wielders Vanessa Jollay (who you might know from dreamy, twangy quartet Tearjerk), Elise Cook (who leads post-punks Guiding Light), and Cait McCoy (who plays in surf-rock outfit FLAGS) – plus hardcore act BIG IRON and alt rockers Penner. Pay what you want at the door, and the shop will donate it to the National Immigrant Justice Center. – Carys Anderson
