St. Elias Mediterranean Fest

St. Elias Orthodox Church
According to this celebration’s organizers, the St. Elias Mediterranean Festival is the longest-running fest in ye olde ATX. Far from their humble beginnings as a sidewalk bake sale in 1934, this year’s big bash shows the true breadth of Mediterranean vibrance – including food, music, dance, and shopping from the cultures of Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Ukraine, Greece, Russia, Eritrea, and beyond. Nab a ticket any day with a $5 donation, or drop in before 4pm on Saturday for gratis entry. Kiddos and college students, don’t worry: those under 10 or holding a valid college ID get in free, too. Now excuse me while I see about that frozen Aperol spritz advertised on the drink menu. Cheers! – James Scott
