Local vendors and artists celebrate the North Loop Strip Spring Block Party this weekend, featuring 12 hours of pop-ups, live music, art, food, and drinks. Visitors can peruse businesses celebrating their birthdays (Workhorse Bar celebrates a lucky 13 years while Forbidden Fruit and Room Service give it up for 45 years) and partake in a VHS swap while enjoying performances from Coffee Badgers, the Andrew Savage Band, Militant Babies, and the Regulars. DJ Sharmander spins a boiler-room set at 5pm. The free outdoor event is open to all looking to support Austin’s small businesses or just soak up the Texas spring sun. – Rachel N. Madison
