Soul Man Sam birthday bash w/ CC Adcock & the Lafayette Marquis

Attendees at the Austin Music Awards on March 1 at Antone’s – and there were plenty of ’em, THANKS, Austin – saw Soul Man Sam nearly steal the musically jam-packed, almost four-hours-long local scene siege. His impromptu “Let the Good Times Roll” during the Antone’s Allstars set resurrected post-WW II blues, funk, and soul like genre progenitors and Chitlin’ Circuit stars. Sam’s electric grandstanding here meets Louisiana’s Keith Richards, Mr. CC Adcock himself, who produced the Stones for the now Grammy-winning tribute album to Clifton Chenier, who christened open Austin’s Home of the Blues in 1975. Everyone, now: “Happy birthday … ” – Raoul Hernandez
