AISD schools contract, but the Song Rise Arts Thrive Program expands into a second year of next-gen music-makers working with ATX pros in a collaborative throwdown at the Home of the Blues. Pop-hop Asian Austinite promqueen, alt-pop Tiny Desk notable Somebody Someone, and all-knowing MC Anastasia Hera headline among the performing mentors as eight up-and-comers range across pop, R&B, soul, español, etc. By name alone they’re farther along than any of us suspect: Eddie Angel, Kira, Luna, Cherri, Zachquietdwn, Yen, Gem, and ULTRA Violetcoraline.
