As I perused my fellow vendors at last year’s Lone Star Zine Fest, I came upon the mouthwatering visuals of Katie Rice’s culinary mag Sobremesa. The recycled-newsprint paper covers food through essays, profiles, and beautiful visual layouts – all channeling the spirit of the mag’s name, aka the Spanish tradition of relaxing at the dinner table post-meal. Their fifth volume launches at First Light with Rice in attendance and a mag is included in the ticket price. – James Scott
