Experimental prog-metal outfit Sleepytime Gorilla Museum are bringing their artful getups and elaborate instruments to Red River. Their long list of wacko instruments includes, but is not limited to: sledgehammer-dulcimer, pedal-action wiggler, Tibetan bells, and a nyckelharpa. I am under the impression this is music best viewed live … lucky us! I’m there for Wendy Eisenberg, whose fuzzy folk self-titled is my favorite album of the year so far. Three local groups – Stop Motion Orchestra, WE Are the Asteroid, and Wet Dip – round out the night. – Rina Laby
