If Blade’s blood rave had a house band, it would be Sextile. The L.A.-based tour de force fully shed their garage-rock skin for high-octane electroclash on their latest records, Push,/i> and yes, please. The sonic shift paved the way for their newfound gritty, rafter-shaking EBM, where industrial accents, darkwave textures, and pounding trance rhythms collide for a dance-fueled riot ready for any warehouse afterparty. Joining the chaos unit is the kinetic post-punk trio Automatic. With restless basslines and airy synths, the threepiece’s recent project, Is It Now?, echoes Joy Division’s atmospheric melodies with a lush modern twist. – Miranda Garza
