Do you hear what I hear? When wandering through the Canopy Complex atrium, the answer is “Maybe not.” Moldovan American artist Serge Bulat explores expectations of sound in his new exhibit for ICOSA, where recordings are manipulated and restructured into layered, playful experiences. These “sonic inkblot” tests challenge the listener to find their own interpretations, therefore opening “a contemplative space where audiences can discover the frequencies their minds respond to, revealing hidden connections between inner landscapes and shared environments.” Open up your ears to the possibilities at sunset every day, starting this Monday, Dec. 29, until mid-February. – James Scott
