Despite being land-locked – as in, they cannot move from the land they lock in on – plants appear and thrive basically everywhere. At this free and fun educational event, Ph.D. student Zarluis Mijango Ramos leads a talk on the “bizarre and specialised mechanisms” that plants use to adapt to their surroundings around the globe. Included in this gratis gathering will be a guided tour through the field lab, kids’ activities, natural history displays, and a Q&A portion post-talk where Ramos answers all your burning plant questions. Except not how to burn plants; let’s be nice to nature, shall we? – James Scott
