Devotees of how-to-screenwrite manuals will recognize the “save the cat” scene as an early moment where the hero does something to reveal character and get the audience on his side. The performers on this comedy showcase bill have already taken that first step: They’re telling jokes to raise money for New Hope Animal Rescue – as in, literally saving cats, guys. (Also dogs!) Holly Hart, Amy Shanker, Austen Silver, and Sean Saldana supply the comedy; VosCuervo the live music; and New Hope’s animals in need provide the cuddles at the pre-show pet meet & greet. Who knows?
