When: Tuesdays-Saturdays. Continues through April 18 2026
Absence can tell as much of a story as presence. This is evidenced by artist Sandra C. Fernandez’s newest exhibition with contemporary printmaking center Flatbed. Through multiple methods – monotype, lithography, and sewing – Fernandez constructs garments absent of a woman’s “direct image” but entirely influenced by migrant women’s experiences. The pieces, the artist writes, “honor survival not as a fixed outcome, but as an ongoing way of being.” A portion of the show’s sales will go to Casa Marianella, an Austin-based shelter for displaced immigrants and asylum seekers. – James Scott
