The trailer for Todd Haynes' 1995 follow-up to his feature debut, queer New Wave indie classic Poison, makes the potential ticket buyer think they’re getting a sci-fi alien invasion thriller in which only California housewife Carol White (Julianne Moore) can see the threat.
